Todo bien

I know, I'm gorgeous....go ahead, you can admit it.
I didn't quite hear you?
Come again?

Why thank you!

Frio Polar

The final embers of an evening fire, with almonds roasting to the left.
Winter refuses to let go.

Zen-ness

So Male Handler (MH) hasn't been happy with the way the front garden looks. He's into calm. Everything must have its place. He began in 2013 to remove the walk way that I used to enjoy laying on.

This meant removing some fairly massive roots.

It was looking better, but that willow to the right of the above picture had to go.

So with a casual push...(after much chopping), it came down.

Looks like a beaver came after this.

So now the tree is down, and eventually the front garden will be more zen-like. Calm. Fluid.

What's amazing is this need of calmness does not carry over to his desk (MB: the nut does not fall far from the tree). Here is MH's desk. This is not the desk of a calm freak.

The Kid Nanny needs a break every now and then

Nostra has been attentive to the new kids...
Probably a bit too much...(helicopter nanny)...

But everyone needs a break once in awhile from their responsibilities, a time that they can just relax, feel the sun on their backs....

and gnaw on a cow skull...

Just another day...

Aside from mulching (awesome mulch by the way), what do you do with bags and bags of almond shells?

Dig a pit ....add coals, cover the hot coals with almond shells...

Seal it up real good, such that the almond shell smoke is forced to vent along a horizontal flue and exit out a pant leg "skirt"...

Remember the fox...
....that looked so pretty...
...that's been in the freezer now for two years...

It's time to smoke it!

So...what would you do with bags and bags of almond shells?

Entrance Guard Goat

Sonny is a BIG Billy. A tad daunting for those who are not familiar with him...especially if you happen to be walking up the driveway and he emerges from the side.

Kid Nanny

Nostra takes her role as a Kid Nanny very seriously. She's not quite sure what to make of their need to poke her belly though.

Chochi's gifts

Chochi delivered twins on September 1st, around 5:00pm.

The honey colored one is male, and the dark one is female. All are doing well. Nostra, the dog, seems to be the most concerned. Her days of lounging on her day bed in the sun are over.

Sharing a lap

I'm here right now on this lap.

No, I won't share.

I'll let you get up here in about 3 minutes.

Or three years.

Or never.

I'll decide in a bit.

Or never.

You looking for me?

I'm doing fine, thank you for asking

I took some time off this winter.

I'd like to say I was sharpening my skills, but that's not true.

The handlers did some traveling, but I managed to keep the house in order by bringing home the bacon tucu tucu.

I turned my head for a second, and Nostra stole it. Such a waste.... She's a pathetic dog. She steals my food and then goes to nap on her sun cushion. Pleassssse!

The almonds are about to flower so I ordered in more hives. Ok, I admit, I didn't. The 30 new hives are to pollinate the rapeseed (Canola oil) next door, but we will benefit from these worker bees as well.

This is our new fence. Took 3 months to build 500 meters. !?!?!

Keika is fine, sassy as ever.

We did have a touch of winter, but it wasn't much to write home about.

The fields are starting to produce again. Here we have rather large stash of Lengua de Vaca.

That was rather exhausting providing you with a 2 month overview of life on the farm. I think I'll nap now if you don't mind.
